Fuocherello is a meeting place created within the Fonderia Artistica De Carli in Volvera (TO).
With reference to the typically Italian children’s game, Fuoco-acqua, Fuocherello manifests the blind pursuit and near-discovery of something we were looking for in the contemporary art world: sculpture.
The main characteristic of Fuocherello is its polycentric nature and its approach focused on experimentation. The De Carli foundry is the trigger, from which various fuses can be lit in different places in Europe and around the world. Romainmôtier-Envy, Neuchâtel, Switzerland and East Hampton, New York.
The programming allows artists to develop their works directly within the foundry. Having the in-house technical team as a support network, artists are free to transform the space into a hybrid workshop-learning space-exhibition venue.
At Fuocherello, artists are free to modify and develop exhibitions and works throughout the duration of the exhibition.
This allows viewers to see what would otherwise be hidden, an artist’s practice and approach to their work including the afterthoughts and scenario that shape it. The space is named after the inaugural exhibition of Mongolian artist (born 94′) Bekhbaatar Enkhtur curated by Gabriele Tosi.
